I really like Astoria, OR. I don't know why, since I didn't grow up anywhere near a coast or big river...but I just do. The town sits on the mouth of the Columbia River where it empties into the Pacific Ocean. It used to be a much busier port as well as a center for fish canning. There are some older buildings with interesting murals on them about life there in earlier times. I put a picture of the old pilings as a layer under the more modern pictures and elements to reference the past.
love the different lines going on here with the strong horizontal across the bottom of the page with yoru photo placement, the verticals of paint strokes and the title on a kind of diagonal angle that draws the viewer in with perspective - fab job!
I loved your page for it's graphic look and great example of horizontal lines, but didn't realize it was Astoria, OR you were talking about. I've always loved it for it's backdrop in "The Goonies". It's a great memorial to the town and it's place!
Love your page with the horizontal line style.. well done! You aced this.. I love the background with those line painted as it looks like a cityscape behind your photos. I love exploring cities and find the quaintness of what makes them unique. You scrapped your page just that way! Thanks Jocelyn for playing along with the June Style Challenge!
