Visiting with Ray and Jackie for a few days before our cruise. we opted to visit Butterfly World near Fort Lauderdale. It was a late start in the hot afternoon, but it was so worth it. In addition to the experience of seeing 3000 butterflies (30 plus species) flying around, there was much more to enjoy, including the aviaries and gardens. I was fascinated with the different flora and fauna. And considering I was the assumed official photographer, I was able to capture what appealed to me.
How amazing! I would love this place! What a cool experience, and that bird color is amazing!

@jk703 Thanks! It really was pretty awesome. Living in the Midwest, I don't see the birds and flowers and plants. I'm sure it would be a treat for you as well.

i was going to say i hate to break it to you but that budgie (budgerigar but i believe they're called parakeets in the US) isn't a butterfly but i think you know that from the journalling ;-) love the messy collage look (read messy as a compliment here!)

@bellbird Yes, Butterfly World was the name of the tourist site we visited. If you look at the layout, on the bird photo, just below and to the right of the word art "100% genuine" I wrote "budgie parrot". I live 1400 miles away from this area, so birds I saw here were totally foreign to me. I was confused by the pale blue color, so I uploaded this to Google images to find out what this little cutie was. I thought it odd that they called it a parrot rather than a parakeet... BTW, I'm pretty decent at knowing the difference between a bird and a butterfly. Lol.

@mcurtt lol noted. My fam had a green & yellow budgie when I was in school, & my bro & sis had a blue one at some point in highschool after I moved out, they're very common here. The green ones are native & they can flock in the hundreds when there's a water hole after a downpour in the arid parts of Aust, not something I've seen myself (I prefer aircon to arid conditions) but birdy photographers love it
