Pool Perils

Description
For the October 2024 Scraplift Challenge.
I chose this page from ArmyGrl
There is a lot of writing here - it basically summarizes our very tumultuous 3 week experience as first time pool owners in the summer of 2019 (we did eventually replace the pool in 2021 and haven't had nearly as many issues with this one lol)

What the what? I am so sorry that all of this happened. You made a really fun page with awesome journaling telling your tale of woe. Have you ever watched watched a movie called The Money Pit? I think this could have been part of that movie. I think a Bruce Springsteen line is appropriate now, "someday, we'll look back at this and it all seem funny" Not that it will be funny, but it will seem funny.

@trekmom I was looking through the pictures I took the night it collapsed as I was putting this page together, and even 5 years later looking at those photos make me speechless. It was just so stunningly unexpected my brain still can't quite process it. We do sort of laugh about it all now, but man those pictures really put me right back to that insanely shocking discovery that night.

@ArmyGrl thanks! I knew this page was gonna be a doozy, but I wanted the story in our scrapbook so I pushed through. Like I said in another comment, documenting it really brought back a lot of those initial emotions and seeing the photos again were tough. It still feels so shockingly unbelievable, but now, on the other side of it all, we can appreciate some little details. Like we're so happy the pool didn't collapse earlier that day when we were in it. We're happy we got the fire out without any damage, and we've become friends with the neighbors we met that night! We also had to laugh at ourselves for being so blissfully unaware at first of the danger we were in with the chlorine gas exposure, especially after a recent episode of 9-1-1 Lone Star dedicated multiple episodes to a deadly chlorine gas cloud. Even though that was dramatic for a fictional show, it gave us a glimpse of how bad we could have been, so good on my husband for having that thought that we should go get some fresh air just in case lol
