silence and solitude have always been a place of peace and calm for me. any time i feel overwhelmed or like too many things are outside of my control, having an absence of noise allows me to open my mind and connect with myself and my thoughts, to relax and begin to work through the situation. silence and alone time give me the opportunity to reset and recharge myself. even something as simple as my commute time home provides an opportunity to clear my mind and shift gears. i am constantly around people and commotion, and any time i can turn off the outside world and just spend some quiet time, i feel incredibly blessed. while i also enjoy all kinds of music to help me connect, sometimes silence speaks louder to me than any song or conversation ever could.
