Well, I'm super sorry I'm late posting this! I did this for 1/3 SOSN, but I didn't get to post it because of a family funeral/viewing and travel.
In January 2023 I made a commitment to eliminate at least 500 things from my house. I made a list of the things we got rid of, but I stopped keeping track around 800. I know with certainty that we eliminated at least 1,000 things from our home that month, and it was so freeing! Such a great reset for a fresh start to the year!
you are my hero! i can only imagine how this felt - i would be certainly overwhelmed doing all this at once - drawer by drawer and room by room is hard enough and keeping track is probably even harder so i bow down to you!
@bellbird oh my gosh! it was a workout for my poor bullet journal! I knew 500 was my goal, so i wrote out 1 through 500. Then i made super brief notes, or like 'shirts' and then drew an arrow from 1-20 if i had 20 shirts. So it wasn't all THAT impressive! And i did go bit by bit. BUT we did some major room overhauls and we also went through all of our Christmas stuff as we were putting it away, and we got rid of TONS of old Christmas stuff we didn't want anymore. And you're SO right! It felt REALLY good - like I lost a weight that I didn't know I was carrying!
@RebeccaH I did a lot of this in the last 2 years myself, i just never really kept track of what I've let go of but your 'during' photos are priceless. I didn't take those (what a terrible scrapbooker I am!!)
Holy Cow Rebecca! What an insane goal in the best way! I love it! I might have to try the same - but not in January. I only have enough energy for work and MOC this month lol Congrats on that huge accomplishment. I can only imagine how freeing it felt!
@kendrawalter yeah, that's definitely true - MOC is all-consuming with regards to free time!! Maybe February is your month... there's even an extra day thrown in there for you to work with this year!
