I too have heard back from an author from time to time and I absolutely love it! I think to many of them, it is a risk for them to send a little piece of themselves out into the Universe so it must feel really nice to get a positive reply. Love all those books in the background!
@yellowpeep, thank you. I certainly think I will reach out to authors more in the future. In some ways putting that book out without individual replies may be like posting a layout. Although even when layouts take a long time to create, they never take as long as a book takes.
