aren't you guys like snowed in half the year? i thought it was just aussie kids that could get to this age without ever having gone skiing (i'm in my 40's and have never been skiing and i'm sure i can't be the only adult in Oz in this category) but i love what you have done with this template - it really is designed like a ski slope itself with the diagonal cascade of pics and ellies
@bellbird Some years we get a lot of snow, but this year we didn't really get a ton.
He has been cross country skiing several times before (which is a lot more work) and we can do that pretty close to home. Downhill skiing is more expensive and you have to travel at least an hour to get a hill big enough to make it worth downhill skiing, so that's why he hadn't done the downhill type before now. Also, for us to take the whole family downhill skiing is usually too much money, but he had a friend with some coupons that made it pretty reasonable for just him to go.
ah well that makes sense - it's cheaper to fly to new zealand and ski there for most aussies than to go to the (often mostly manmade snow covered) skifields towards the bottom of mainland Aust - i'm also not a fan of the cold so it's not my idea of a fun sounding holiday/vacay. Glad you didn't have to spend too much time digging your car out etc this year then!
