1-3 photos: Yes. I used 2.
1/4 page journaling. Yes. But I barely squeaked by with this. I divided my page into 4 boxes. When the journaling is condensed into a box, it just fits.

I'm fascinated by the planning of your page. The whole effect of the softened black and white version of your photo as the backdrop to the original is so beautiful. Then yet another saturation adjustment so the journaling can be seen without covering the image. Wow.
