This is my entry to this month's journaling challenge. I chose Celebrate the Bilingual Child month (and took inspiration from I'm Just Me Because Month).
The journaling reads:
Bilingual children are the product of their parents' determination. For children, learning two, or even three, languages is not hardship, they pick them up naturally and hardly even notice doing so. But it is a herculean effort for the parents to ensure that enough of their daily communication happens in the target language. Lessons rarely work. But watching tons of TV does. So do playgroups, kindergartens, schools...They have to need to speak the language.. and it's up to the parents to make sure they do.
There is an inside joke in our family that Michal can speak three languages fluently but can be silent in none.
One of the things he loves the most in this world is a good story. Listening to audio books has helped him keep languages alive and expand vocabulary.
Love this! Amazing accomplishment to learn 2 languages other than his native speaking one! I can relate to the journaling. Love the masking and the artsy feel to this!
