We took you to the optometrist fully expecting to get the all-clear. We’d never seen any hint of poor vision or struggling sight. Even Grandma, who sent countless kids to Dennis the Optometrist over her years of teaching, expected it to be an in-and-out appointment. Imagine everyone’s surprise when Dennis found that you need to work at least seven times harder than the average five year old to focus. You’d learned to compensate for it so there were no obvious outward issues. We chose a pair of glasses – well, two; one to keep at school, one to keep at home. And kiddo, what a difference they’ve made! Your reading, writing and drawing has come on leaps and bounds since you’ve started wearing them. We’re super-proud of the way you managed all the testing and the drops that turned you temporarily blind…and extra-proud that you wear your glasses at school every day without a fuss.
