Journaling:
"This is either a London Planetree or an American Sycamore that has been pollarded. To pollard a tree is an ancient practice. Like coppicing, one cuts back the new growth on a regular schedule to shape and train tree, to maintain its size, or to harvest its wood. Unlike coppicing, where one may cut the tree or shrub back to the ground; pollarding leaves the basic framework of the tree in place, and simply cuts back new growth to a given point. This may be done annually, or once every several years depending on the gardener’s needs."

Oh you are such a smartie pants! I love how you did your photo corners! I use to do that a lot when I was doing paper scrapbooking.

love that title! those trees are really cool - and i love the photo where you show the whole shape of one tree and then the branches in close-up from another tree. great shot! cute cute photo corners!

@jenn mccabe Thank you so much Jenn.. I also took a shot from underneath re switching the phone mode on the iPhone to "selfie" and pointed it up.. that was a cool shot too.. I just found the tree was really cool looking. Thanks for a fun challenge!
