translated journaling:
When you got to choose which European city we went to, you chose Rome. Why Rome? Because there is a lot to do there? Because you always wanted to go to Italy? Because they eat pasta there? Because you can do some really good shopping there and you love to shop? Or because you would have to fly there as we would only go for a couple of days? Personally I think it was the last two reasons. Shopping anyway because if you like do anything, it is to go shopping. And Italian cities have excellent shopping facilities. But also because you wanted to fly in an airplane again.
We flew to Menorca years ago, but you were 6 years old at that time and you couldn't remember much about it. So we were now flying to Roma-Fiumicino from Schiphol. That was exciting and fun, you could of course sit in the window seat to have a good look from really high up. Take off was very scary, but after that it was nice and quiet. Watch the earth from up high go by, read a bit, snack a bit. Before you knew it, we were there.
And our way back was more of the same. First by train to the airport, which went fine and was very easy. Then wait at the airport, eat dinner there, find airplane and off we went again
