As part of my work in the outpatient intensive care unit, I also provided people with post-polio syndrome who need artificial ventilation at home at night....
I remember that sugar cube as well. Of the people I knew, I can recall two who had polio. One was a next door neighbor, the other was a coworker. Both were ambulatory but had disabilities as a result of it. Interesting article.
What an interesting but heartbreaking story. He certainly was a man of courage and determination to accomplish all that he did. I like the two photos. Thanks for sharing.
