For Day One of Grow With Love: Kids Edition

Once upon a time, the longing for motherhood I would later feel, was just a quiet whisper..some vague “someday after..” kind of dream. Instead I was dreaming of BIG careers, exotic travels, live music, culinary snobbery, fast living, cosmopolitan culture, “changing the world” and changing minds.
Then...life happened, love happened, tragedy happened, God happened. And those “BIG" dreams I thought were so important, they were, as it turned out, not important at all. Not to me. They were small and selfish and full of pride, really. And I craved something more meaningful and hopeful, and.....soft. Slow. Vanilla. What was once just a vague whisper, became something I *knew* I wanted -- I *knew* I was meant to be a mom. Those other dreams aren't forgotten and much of what I cared about then, I still do. But my perspective changed. And I couldn’t wait for that future. the one that God had in mind, not the one I had been building, I couldn’t wait for the family, for the domestic life, for the calm.
Today, I am living and loving just as I know I was created to do: as a wife and mother, a storyteller, legacy builder. Eternally minded, and grateful every day for that dream that was breathed into me years ago. The dream to be your mom. I can’t imagine anything MORE than this.
