Cat keeps finding baby bunnies - and bringing them to us with varying degrees of injury (always minor). They go to the RSPCA to find a new home but so hard to let them go but Cat and bunnies do not mix!
for a second i thought you were expanding your family (so i take it this one went to the RSPCA too?) - you're so right about them not mixing but the fence pailing backgrd with a splash and splatter of paint, the paper layers, everything down to the stitched grass is wonderful with your cute bunny pic!
@bellbird no expanding of family here although the backyard has been taken over by a large family of magpies who think they own the place now... This bunny was the least friendly of the three and he was taken to the RSPCA to find a more bunny friendly home.
i know they are much maligned but magpies can be cool- we have a family that has been with us since we moved in in 2010 and we've seen several babies (we've referred to the all as fluffy or scruffy, last year they had a fluffy and a scruffy) and they don't bother us except to fly into the windows, attacking their reflections when protecting their nest about every Aug/Sept - DH has hand fed them grubs & snails from the veggie garden and we have planter pot saucers of water out that they regularly drink from and have the odd bath in and they seems to know us and don't bother us if we go to the mailbox or bin etc and they're stalking about but they will dive bomb some others, which makes them a pretty cheap alternative to a guard dog!
@bellbird - The male of this group is the most beautiful magpie i have seen - he has a broad white strip down his back - they are very friendly except to the cat - they make his life interesting - he used to try and stalk birds in our backyard - they have strongly discouraged that behavior so now he just sits and watches (and sleeps mostly)!
