Dylan, right now you are eighteen months, and you are such a delight to be around. You are such a happy baby, and everyone around you just smiles when they see you. You are one smart cookie! Your Lola has taught you how to sight read, and you can read your name, mom, dad, and 6 other words besides! You only say 10 or so words, but you still remember and use some of the sign language we taught you starting when you were 10 months old. You put your hand up to your ear when you hear something unusual, and look at me as if to ask me whether I heard it too. You are climbing everywhere and getting into everything! You try to balance on your car until we tell you to stop! You turn over your mini sofa bed and like to climb and slide on it. And speaking of slides, you love to go down the slide with me, giggling all the way down. You love to eat fruits and will happily gnaw away on a nectarine, apple, or plum. When you eat, you want to use the spoon yourself -- even if nothing gets into your mouth! You love to drink water, but refuse to drink any milk except mine. Yes, you are still breastfed, but only at bedtime. You still look forward to it, even if I don't have as much milk as I used to. You have recently discovered Barney and Thomas the Train cartoons, and those are your new favorites. You still love your books though, and you will often bring me a book and then climb into my lap for me to read to you. You especially enjoy any books with flaps that you can lift, panels to pull, and textures to touch. You also love playing with my iPhone, and can navigate it like a pro. You can solve puzzles on it, name shapes, watch stories, and even text your dad by mistake. But your favorite thing to do on it is watch videos of yourself playing! You enjoy bathtime, since we give you water in a basin and a few water toys for you to play with. You scoop up the water in a cup and pour it on the floor, or you like to splash the water as hard as you can! You love to play with your trains, and will yell "Hoooo!" to make Thomas go. You know how to kick a ball, and are pretty good at it, too! You get excited when I turn the Roomba on, and like to get close to it, then run away screaming when it moves in your direction. There are so many little things you do that I wish I could list them all. Time goes by so quickly, and before I know it, you'll be all grown up, so I want to remember all of it, remember and cherish exactly who you are right now.
