Recipe:
Clam Dip
ingredients:
1 medium onion - diced
1 stick butter/margerine
1 1/2 cups flavored bread crumbs
1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)
1 small package mozzerella cheese (shredded or diced)
4 - 6 ounce cans of minced clams
directions:
1) strain 2 cans of clams retain juice. strain other 2 cans and discard juice. (i add additional 2 cans of juice as we like the clam flavor)
2) preheat oven to 325 degrees, and chop onion into diced pieces..
3) melt butter (or margerine) in pan adding onions. saute onions until translucent in color.
4) add clam juice and lemon juice to sauted onions.
5) in a bowl, combine bread crumbs and minced clams.
6) to bowl, add saute onion & juice mixture, mixing well.
7) add in mozzerella and mix cheese so it is throughout.
8) put into baking dish and bake in 325 degree oven for 1 hour. ***serve hot, with crackers***
