I like the story of these blown glass balls ...
Excerpts from our (wedding) travel diary in the Val d'Azun in October 2004.

... Then we push to the glassblower in Agos-Vidalos. It's the same one that had amazed me so much when I was young in red class (or green?). Besides, it always amazes me and it seems to contaminate Jean. It is simply magical when he takes out the glass of the oven, luminous paste that he blows, turns, breaks ...
I crack, I buy something that will serve as a candle holder. But when I pay, I have the misfortune to ask if he makes Christmas decorations. Yes, on request. 6 euros the ball. 6 euros the ball !!! And I re-crack and I order six for tomorrow. Three in transparent glass and three with bubbles. Jean did not hold me back. He surely should! Another object pleased us, but the glassblower explained that it was a fly catcher! We thought of a noble thing like a liqueur heater ... "

... Good morning, after a good time to read in bed, we still went to get the Christmas balls from the glassblower. They are super beautiful, they are heavy, they are objects that you want to touch, to caress. It does not seem fragile like classic glass balls. It must be said that I was a little afraid of finding myself with a Gifi equivalent but at 36 euros all six! ... No, I do not regret, they are very expensive, that's for sure, but they are extras! And I got one for free because it has a small hole (nothing at all). I have to think where I will put them. They seem too heavy for the christmas tree and I don't want the cat to make them fall!
If I say "I" about balls and not "we" (after all, we're on honeymoon) it's because Jean told me it was my somewhat unreasonable gift, my idea, and that I had to assume it alone. But he is delighted with my pleasure to have these balls made especially for me ... "
Well now, fourteen years later, I continue each year to go out and stage these glass-blown Christmas balls made for me on my honeymoon. They are always so beautiful. Was it worth 36 euros? Piouf, so much more!
Those glass balls are beautiful & very intriguing! I am so impressed that you had a wedding travel diary, perfect for storytelling! Thank you so much for joining the challenge!
