the scooner pier on the side of the barge point in Porto Seguro, Bahia, North East Brazil. We lived for quiet a while in a small village across the river, Trancoso. When I first went up north, there was no airport, no flights you could take to get there, so we would get in a bus for over 18 hours, and the bus stopped just here....crossing the river on a barge at midnight, with a super starry night, something out of the civilized world...made me wish to go live there...and that is one accomplishment I can say I did achieve, giving my daughter the best start in life
