not sure if this is working for viewing, I tried sticking into a square but PSE didn't want to help, but I am so so in love with Nicole's BYOC that is perfection especially as I have been wanting to print a cook book for Sarita and my God Daughters with the simplified recipes of stuff that traditionally would take forever.... in the era of almost cooked frozen stuff, isn;'t that much of a chore making nice yummy stuff :) This one is our version of Spanish sea food Paella.

i love your version with basmati! i hope saffron is cheaper over there, it's like the diamonds of the spice world here so i rarely use it these days and even then i tend not to add much and then add colour with tumeric but even that went up sharply in price after everyone started putting it in lattes! )

@bellbird yes, it is terribly expensive here too!!! I couldn't believe it first time I bought because you can't find it in powder, so the threads are what is expensive.... I went to the Portuguese shop and got it in powder which is way cheaper, and OH with people now adding turmeric to everything!!!! have seen also there is a trend of diet based on turmeric ? crazy world!!!

@MrsPeel crazy world - couldn't have said it better myself! i tried the asian supermarkets and there's some (not exactly authentic) Euro deli places near us but i've never seen a powdered form and yep those threads are... well, i might as well buy and cook with actual gold!
