My mother has been going through cancer - we are waiting her next round of treatments/diagnosis/prognosis... the waiting is hard! My mother found it a very terrifying time - we all did - but she's coped with the surgery and the treatment and the hair loss and all the side effects...
Journaling reads:
It's the phrase you dread to hear, unless it's coupled with "agressive" and "rare" followed by "we're not sure how to treat it - the protocols don't exist for this here because it's so rare". Then the fear kicks in, and all the procedures become a blur of panic - biopsy, surgery, chemo and then radiation. And somewhere in there, courage steps up to the plate, and people take your hand and show you that you can do this... you CAN do this.

So very powerful! I'm glad you've chosen to document this difficult time in your life and your mother's. A positive attitude can be a powerful tool in her arsenal.

Wow, I am right there with you. I went through the exact same thing with my mom and oh, your journalling is right on and beautifully written. Keep your chin up and know that your mom can be the "long tail" of the bell curve for this rare cancer! I'm sending you my strongest thoughts.
Such a moving page - I'm amazed at the beautiful journaling. I wish for you all a speedy recovery with great news to come! Thanks for sharing this terrifying moment in such a beautiful way.
