This is an ATC. When I was looking for a picture to illustrate the quote, I found this one of Rascal, a Chinese Crested, who was competing in the 2015 "Ugliest Dog" contest. Rascal's looks reminded me of when my first Shih Tzu, Ling-Ti, had Cushing's disease. She was a beautiful specimen of the breed with her classic black and white fur and perfect "chrysanthemum" face. Then the hormonal disorder struck and she lost nearly all of her hair. Her skin, naturally light and dark, looked just like Rascal's. She had a bit of hair on her face, a tuft of long black hair on her right side, and whispy strands on her tail. She also had skin eruptions that looked like tiny pieces of coal. Not a pretty sight, at all. But, I'll never forget a woman at the vet's office saying to me how sweet Ling-Ti was, prancing around so proudly by my side, because she doesn't realize she doesn't look "normal." Beauty is self confidence. (BTW, with treatment, her hair grew back so quickly I swear you could sit and watch it grow in.) Oh I just adore that you used this one - I hesitated to include it - but I LOVE the idea so much (and I have one of these little bowls with gold filling - so beautiful!!)
