Journalling -
The year for being free. For being unapologetic, for trusting my instinct, for cutting myself some slack, for enjoying the little things, for accepting myself,
for breaking free.
Art Journaling interpretation -
Ok so art journaling doesn't come naturally to me so I thought I'd explain my process a little haha. I tried to be a little free-er with how I approached the page and had fun layering all the paint and stamps. One had a butterfly on it and I thought that was a great symbol of breaking free, so I leaned into the butterflies breaking free of the paper. The gesso I used also has some red on it which is a colour I usually shy away from but in the spirit of breaking free I decided I would lean into the red and allow myself to have some boldness in amongst the messy but calm neutrals. And I thought that matched with the message of being free to accept myself, even the messy and trying to free myself from that constant perfecting. Maybe I thought too much into it but I hope that's in the spirit of art journaling.
