my idea (as I started) was to make a comparison with the almost ready to be released make of Murder in the Orient Express, with Kenneth Brannagh. so that is what the journaling is about. When I first started reading Agatha Christie (in my teens in Spanish & Portuguese) my idea by Agatha Christie's amazing writing about Poitrot was EXACTLY the face and body, even the sound of David Suchet's Poirot. I got Sarita to fall in love with Poirot too and somehow, Ken Brannagh rings no bell to be the famous detective. Thing is, the film has a cast to die for: Judi Dench, Jonny Depp, Michele Pffifer, Josh Gad and a bunch of others...plus , if you know us, you know both Sarita and I have the Orient Express as our dream holiday (which wont be doing any time soon as is so expensive) so it would be a virtual trip if we go to the film....at the moment I am not well enough to go cinema, but hope to get better soon then I can make it TFL!!!!
I am sooooo in love with this, Cynthia!!! I'm a massive Agatha Christie fan, and Poirot is my all-time fave. You've really done him justice. That's why **YOUR PAGE IS A FROGGY FAVORITE!**
I'm not a Poirot fan, but this LO is amazing! I love how creative it is. The placement of the journaling! The moustaches behind and on the photos! Just awesome!
ADORE Poirot and Christie and your page is a standout for sure! And you're right .. didn't like Ustinov's Poirot and cannot imagine Brannaugh as Poirot either ... but Suchet fit the bill all the way ... did you see the documentary of him taking the Orient Express for real? My dream trip for sure! LOVE your page!
They made a remake with K. Brannagh? I never knew. I'm not saying I'd love to see him as Poirot because Suchet is undoubtedly the best (we have all his episodes in a gigantic box set). On the other hand I did like Ustinov even though he is not like Poirot at all - but then he is Ustinov. I mean Death on the Nile with him and David Niven? It doesn't get better than that. And then Angela Lansbury, I could watch that movie over and over again. But I digress!
Johne Depp is in it? Well, it's a must see then. What part is he playing? I must investigate at once! ...
...
1 minute later: Oh no, he plays Ratchett! That's no good, he's going to be dead after 5 minutes.
Anyway, thanks for inspiring my 2 minutes speech about one of my fav detectives. Undoubtedly you love Ian Carmichael as Wimsey as much as I do as well. That would make another great page!
