Justine @bellbird thank you! Yes it is yummy.. growing up I never had asparagus except in a can! For the past 10 years or so we buy it fresh.. sometimes hubby grills it and we enjoy it with blackened Tuna steak, other times he makes me his Asparagus soup. We change up on the soup.. sometimes we use green asparagus, othertimes we use white asparagus. It is really delicious!! Thanks again
i think i've only eaten it steamed (didn't know you could do so much with it! it's a bit weird from the can after you've had it fresh! (my experience was the reverse of yours by the sounds! not that i could go back to canned a second time!)
@bellbird I can still do canned but only in a pinch.. the canned is only to put on a salad or a quick bit for me maybe at lunch or something. When we went to Germany quite a few years back - maybe 2005?? It was during Spargelzeit Season (Asparagus) - it was March. Besides Germany we were in Amsterdam and Belgium too...Every place we ate had tons of Asparagus dishes on the menu. In Amsterdam on the menu was Aspargus ice cream (it was the white asparagus)... I had to get it... would I ever order it again?? Nope, but it was nice to try. It was good but not something I would order again, so yup, Asparagus is a multi-functional vegetable! YUM!!!
Lovely layout. Of course I had to look closely at it. As an acknowledged "foodie" I am always interested in food layouts and what people liked and where they ate it. This looks yummy. Does your husband share his recipes?
