journaling reads
For my 45th birthday, I wanted some nice colored
pencils and super fine-tip markers. I had researched
prismacolor premier pencils and thought they would
be awesome. I hated all my other colored pencils,
because although the colors were pretty, they broke all
the time. I had a million sharpeners and read the
supposed correct way to sharpen them, but no dice. I also
wanted a good set of ultra-fine pens with lots of colors.
My boyfriend, friends and family weren’t exactly sure the right
stuff to get me, so I got cash and gift-certificates. Which was
awesome!! I bought my 24 pack of prismacolors right away. AND
a special sharpener. It was only $7 - and even though that
sounds crazyexpensive for a sharpener - I say only because
HOLY GUACAMOLE! My old colored pencils have a brand new life!
Do they still break?Of course. But not as bad, not even close!
So along with my extra yummy prismacolors, I have all the cool
colors I used to have without the headaches. YAY!!So, Gayle & I were at an office store, and guess what they had?
Sharpie extra-fine 24 pack with bonus 80’s colors! Yes please!
And they were on sale, SCORE! They are so much fun! So I’ve been
drawing really mosaic-y involved things like this card for
Kathy’s Birthday. And reading everything I can about how to
actually draw & blend with colored pencils. And drawing swirley
homages to my favorite artist, Vincent van Gogh like my bat card
up there. I’m a little obsessed, and have to take a sketchbook
and pencils everywhere. I don’t see a problem with that.
I read every word and am so excited about you happy! I just got this way cool sharperner (electric) school smart, and it brings colored pencils to such a fine sharp point. Actually used in art schools! I adore sharp pencils and wow to the Prismas. I have some bulky Prangs and slim Lyras, that are acceptable, but Prismas...swoon! I also highly recommend Staedtler fineliner colors, no bleed! I babbled and babbled, but just so love color and pens/pencils and coloring and your page is making me want to go and color!
