I had to help Stephanie carry a bookcase from IKEA, and afterwards, she still had some shopping to do so we went into Herlev Bymidte. It was Black Friday, a phenomenon new to Denmark and one we were not expecting to be as popular as it was. The place was packed! Stephanie noticed that one of the advertisement screens said something about Anders & Katrine from
Lille Nørd, so I stopped and waited for the screen to say it again so I could see what it was. What? They’ll be performing here? Tonight? I knew the girls would love that! When I picked them up from børnehave, I asked Dagmar if she wanted to meet Anders and Katrine. "The real ones?!" she asked in disbelief. Yes, the real ones! She was elated!
When we showed up at about a quarter to five, there were kids and parents everywhere! Dagmar led Maggie into the fray and they found a place to sit with Vera and one of her mothers. They had a better view than I did, but I could still tell it was a lot of fun. There was singing and dancing and laughter for nearly an hour! After the show, they made an announcement, but I couldn't hear it very well. We needed some things anyway so we went into Fotex and did some shopping. On the way out, I saw what the announcement must have been about. They were taking photos, giving autographs, and selling CDs, but they were almost done. While we were shopping, the queue had whittled down to just six people! With barely any waiting, the girls got to meet them in person!
(I know they aren't celebrities to most of you, but pretty much every child in Denmark knows who these two are! They host a children's TV program about animals.)
