My grandmother loved Alyssum and Portulaca, I plant in her memory. I forgot to plant it this season but it came back. I grew Portulaca from seed, it was very sweet.
It's been almost 37 years since she passed away, never gone from my heart.

What a beautiful page and lift Val! How wonderful that you plant the plants in memory of your Grandmother. Amazing when you see something they loved you immediately remember them. My Grandmother loved violets and I think of her when I see them. I really love how you scrapped this with the sweater pattern paper the fall colors and paints along with the journaling on the circular labels. Beautiful! Thank you for sharing and playing along with the November Scraplifting Challenge!
@cfile Thank you so much for your kind words. I love violets also, I have many of them just volunteering. My dear friend's mom loved roses, so I named my roses in honor of her: Nona's roses. Her name was Honora. They're never really gone when they're close to your heart. @ajm Thank you very much. She was amazing and should be honored in many ways.
I am so glad they returned! I wish I had the gardening bug and green thumb, but alas, I don't. So I will admire yours!! I love that you plant in honor of someone who was and still is very dear to you. It shows in your lovely layout. Thanks for lifting me!
@garrynkim Thank you, this green thumb didn't just pop up, I've been at this in this yard for 36 years now. When we moved in, I wanted to edge the entire back yard with perennials and now, it's filled. Hydrangea, Butterfly Bush, Hosta, Azaleas, Bee Balm, Lilac Trees, and more.
