The photo is from Kuwait, 2016. These are all Laboratory Technicians. In this time of COVID-19 darkness, my fellow technologists and technicians are a beacon of light. We are the ones that perform COVID-19 testing. We are behind the scenes and often do not get recognition the way nurses and doctors do (because we are unseen). We often work long hours, 24/7/365. When the going gets tough, we work even harder, because behind every specimen is a patient. It is estimated that 60-70% of diagnoses are based on lab results.

While many are stay at home, I've been busy learning how to properly perform COVID-19 testing. The molecular lab was hit hard by COVID-19...by that I mean the staff are working their butts off, working overtime. I am greatly impressed by their dedication and hard work.
