I'm a journaling person and I like how your integrated your journaling into the layout to tell your very interesting story. Great layout -- love the blue and orange combo. And I appreciate homemade and old-fashioned remedies over taxing the body with chemicals and who knows what found in some of the new medicines. I think we all need the phone number of that sensible ER doctor who is a friend of your son!
@carrie1977 LOL, Carrie, it is hog back fat- a Southern favorite. Fatback is, much as it sounds, the fat from the back of a pig. It is a "hard fat" that can be chopped and ground. As such, fatback is a key ingredient in many sausages to add flavor and juiciness. The extra fat fatback adds to sausages is what makes sausages have the rich taste and texture. NOT a fav of mine, but I am a "yankee" by birth.
