AJ day 11 - selfie before the news

Truly impressive how one word can change our life to before and after, forgive me, I had not been in the mood for the selfies since... I am sure the swollen red eyes are not what we need here... I have journalled about being up the mountain above our village, and learning of its history: i.e. The mountain is in fact connected to the Arciconfraternita della Buona Morte e Orazione (Archconfraternity of the Good Death and Oration), a devotional order that appeared in the 1500s and whose followers ensured, beyond the numerous humanitarian activities, the accompaniment to the gallows of those sentenced to death... How appropriate it feels to me now. I feel like we have been condemned.
