Ahh, Springtime
For me, Spring used to mean the start of baseball season.
The true harbinger of spring is not crocuses
...but the sound of the bat on the ball.
That has long since passed. Now, spring is the crocus, usually poking its purple head above the glistening snow just a bit too early. Spring should be Autumn in reverse. The world beginning to bloom. Harsh temperatures gradually turning to wild March winds. Soft April showers. May's lovely bounty. Lately, it seems, there hardly is a spring. Winter keeps its icy grip just a bit too long and suddenly we go right to summer with its hot steamy days. Global warming?
