Both daughters, although not Australian, grew up with Australian "Playschool" TV show(songs, books, videos). So we had to go see the original Big Ted, Humpty, Jemima etc at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image.
i dont think i knew this place existed! (i did click to see if that was THE humpty though and wow! who knew!? looks like Don Spencer on the telly too - Playschool did do tours like the Wiggles when DD was little and we went to one show at a local club (Don was long gone by then but i grew up with him) and they had the most massive humpty so even the kids at the back could see, Big Ted was also ginormous - it kinda mess with my head!) love the corner brushwork/transfers and the strip across the middle drawing the eye to the title and into the page!
@bellbird "they had the most massive humpty" is not a phrase I ever thought I'd hear (but I love it!). My two grew up with a song for EVERYTHING from brushing your teeth to going to sleep thanks to Playschool
@LynnG i have a photo of (the literal) Massive Humpty on a CD or DVD somewhere (y'know the era before EHDs) and yep, if i had a dollar for every time someone said to me about my phrasing... LOL
I have to admit we watched the big anniversary Playschool show as a family on the tv a year or 2 back - they had a lot of notable Aussies that grew up with Playschool do segments (newspresenters, singers, comedians and such - Hamish and Andy sang 'there's a hole in my bucket' and my kids loved it; some of the original presenters came back and it was a blast from the past but also fun for all!)
