Nearly 6 years ago I bought a Chinese Crested/Yorkshire Terrier mix pup that had been rescued from an Amish puppy mill. I'd had Shih Tzus (flat-faced doggies with big fluffy curved tails) in my life for nearly 30 years and my first response to this pup was, "my, what a big nose she has." My second response was, "where is her tail?" Even Yorkies are suppoed to have a small tail back there allegedly so they can be pulled out of badger holes when they "go to ground." Her tail had been docked way too short! Shortly after bringing her into our home (and into our hearts), I found this poem on-line and it spoke perfectly to how I feel about "Pennie." I bought a trusting heart who gave me devotion from the start when I bought that brown-eyed puppy with a stump for a tail
