JOURNALING: Here is my picture of the BEST tuna melt in Columbus OH.
And here is the "rest of the story." I have been searching for a good tuna melt in my town for years. I can't seem to get the tuna salad part right when I try to make one at home. And most restaurant tuna melts have turned out to be a tuna salad sandwich with cheese on toast! That doesn't warm up the tuna and start the cheese to melting. Then I went to an ice cream shop that has started selling lunch and EUREKA! A tuna salad sandwich with cheese GRILLED on a panini press so everything (bread, tuna, cheese) was warm and the insides were "melty." And, the coup de grace - they served it with potato chips! PERFECT!
