Great storytelling, and those Lego pieces are a good touch, reminding me of the plastic things I've seen made by 3D printers. I have a friend who 3D prints things and she made me a little dragon that is climbing on my wall here beside my desk.

I really need to find a friend who has one so I can see how they work! They sound fascinating! So fun to read about the way the family came together to buy one for Christmas!

Great grid design. I love the differing angles and view points. Hope he was delighted with his creations.

oh @Karen has to see this - she's Team 3D printer too (and my DH has a few of them). I wish you the best of luck in not having your home overrun by boxes of every colour of filament under the sun! Love that lego piece, multi-alpha title card!

I love all the photos of him putting it together and then watching it print. I couldn't walk away from mine for the first many prints because I was just sure something was going to happen if I didn't keep an eye on it. I love my 3D printer and have made some many awesome and usual items around the house. I don't have the cool multi-colored spool feeder thing though, that would be awesome!
