There aren’t many golf courses that make our “Never Again” list, but Falcon, near Luke Air Force Base in Arizona, will never have to suffer another divot from Dave or me! Although there were a couple of scenic spots, if we narrowed our sightline, it was not pretty, and the fairways didn’t come close to the standard we have for Arizona courses. But the nail in the coffin was the constant L O U D noise from six or seven “air shows” courtesy of jet training going on all day. The course is literally next door to a runway from which F-16 Fighting Falcons and F-35 Lightning IIs take off. Had we been there for the planes, it would have been a delightful day. They are beautiful, and their maneuvers are incredible. But golf turned out to be a pretty non-social day, as yelling over the jets became a strain. We learned to swing and putt through the noise, but won’t be going there again.
