well i think their advice is sound - great starting point (this is why my florals are more abstract but i have the same process and it is so hard to see the forest for the trees during like you said !)
I hope you do keep painting - but also that is already a great feline portrait and I feel like you have totally captured the attitude ... or 'cattitude'! Such a great page too.
