It was the early morning twilight.
As usual I was up insanely early,
but this time I had an urban view
from the 25th floor of our hotel in Las Vegas.
I saw that perfect crescent of moon,
through a film on the windows,
blurring the lights from the city, the airport,
and a backdrop of the Spring Mountains.
I wasn’t going to take the photo,
The perspective was off.
It wasn’t picture perfect,
but that moon made it
all worthwhile.
