November 11, 2023 I love bridges. I always think of the heavens, reaching up to the sky. This one is a stunner, so delicate looking. The photo was taken through the windshield of Joe’s car on our infamous 3000 mile+ road trip. It is the Dames Point Bridge, originally named the Napoleon Bonaparte Broward Bridge, It crosses the St. Johns River in Jacksonville, Florida. The main span is 1,300 feet and it is 175 feet high, a cable-stayed bridge with 21 miles of cable.
