Leading lines are straight lines that occur naturally drawing your eyes throughout the image. This is a corner of my office that is filled with treasures from my life. The stained glass bookcase belonged to my Maternal grandparents, possibly made by him? The ocean photo was a gift from one of my first Internet dates. The Macrame circle frame was a gift at a Newcomer's Christmas gathering. My grandparents Blackwood are in the left photo on top of the Tiffany bookcase, My Mom as a young woman in front of them. There is a basket of “found” items from the sea and a milk pitcher from my childhood home.. On the window sill a carved wooden cat from my cruise to Mexico, with Q97 , and a photo of long time significant other, Joe. and a larger photo of my 3 kids in Hawaii, many years ago. Hanging in the window is a Mobile bought at Underground Seattle, and a glass vase (aqua) bought at Portland''s Saturday Market, for me by my youngest son. On the file cabinet a photo of my husband. On top of the tall bookcase, my oldest son and me on the Wedding Cruise of youngest son. On the glass surface, a photo of my husband in his Air force uniform. sorry, the cat is hidden by the chair...
I really love this. First, your photos are terrific. A great thing about using leading lines in photos is that it can help elevate an ordinary snapshot of a scene into something more interesting or impactful. You definitely achieved that here. I especially love the large photo where the lines of the desk and the items on the desk all point you into this cozy corner and then your eye continues that line up the side of the bookcase to your pretty hanging plants and then around left and back down. That kind of movement is awesome and it helps showcase all the wonderful, meaningful items that you are talking about. Love how the background stitching mimics the black frames around your photos. Thank you for playing along with the challenge.
Enchanting! This page is both educational and personal. It provides fabulous examples of the use of Leading Lines, whilst explaining what they are and is a great example of documenting learning. #MOC11-3 #photography #LeadingLines
