Not crazy at all, our family loves road trips; and our country has so much to see! I love this template and the journaling!

i didn't know how much of your road trip you were actually on the road! i dunno how many times Oz fits into the US geographically but the 2 days of driving to get to theme parks in the state north of us as a kid used to drive me bonkers (to the point that we fly now if we have to do it, i am that scarred for life and admittedly i now live another 2hr drive south than where i grew up) and really there's only one state north and one state south of us (plus Tas where Ona is, which i love, but that's an overnight ferry ride south) so i am in awe of what you guys were willing to do (and how much you would have spent in fuel!) to show him so much of your country!

@bellbird Luckily, gas was pretty cheap in September, under $3/gallon (1.135/liter). It got cheaper as we headed east.

@bestcee thanks for the conversion! d you mentally convert everything now or do signs have that info there so metric peeps know what they're paying as well? (i really don't get gallons and anything but metric really - my go-to with inches has been scrapbook paper for years, i know 12inches is 30cm or around lounge cushion cover size but i have no idea how other people remember, oh maybe a school ruler? 30cm is pretty standard- and i half filled the car at $1.58/L today, it's been above $1.40 for a while now but what can ya do?!

@bellbird I Google converted it for you! When my brother in Canada complains about gas prices, I convert it from liters to gallons to compare. I figured the US seems to be an outlier on measurement, so you were probably metric. Our school rulers are 30 cm/12 in long. And I know they teach metric and imperial in schools. DH uses metric constantly at work as a nurse but everywhere else it's been imperial.

@bestcee much appreciated! (I google convert everything too - I'm always pinning recipes in imperial, I think the only time we use pounds & ounces is newborn birth weights & even then they tell you in kilos as well) Glad to know schools teach both too
