This is beautiful. Great blended photo and the browns on the left edge with the tied sprig of pine reflect the woods of winter and are a wonderful
contrast to the white of the snow. Interesting subway journaling too.
@Sokee@marijke@flowersgal@londoncuppa@Cherylndesigns Thanks for your kind words. We had a buck hanging around back in November. But now we seem to have adopted this doe. She's been coming to feed around 4 in the afternoon for the last several days. The feeder is about 20 feet outside of my studio window, so I've gotten some really close shots of her. But this one was while she was in the meadow, when she was taking off, as she had already eaten everything in sight. She'll stare at us thru the window. She knows we are there, but she isn't too skittish. She usually hangs around for a good 5 minutes each visit.
@Angela Toucan Thank you. Yes, it is our meadow area looking toward the south. I shared another photo in the Chatty pad (initiated by Tree City/aka Sara) where the doe is at the feeding station about 20 feet away from my studio window (faces to the east). I am having so much fun capturing the birds & squirrels & whatever else comes along.
@mcurtt That's so wonderful, Marilyn, to live that close to nature. I'd love to have had deer come up to our house when we lived up north. We had all kinds of other (smaller) wildlife, though. Hubby always feed them all.
@Cherylndesigns It really has been a blast watching everyone. We do have quite a bit of wildlife out here, we've seen rabbit, coyote, fox, possum, raccoon, skunk. Once a skunk sprayed under our deck. We couldn't live in the house for weeks, the smell was so intense. Luckily we were able to live over at my mother-in-law's home as she was over in Hungary for the year. You have to take the good with the bad. And mosquitoes in the summer? OMG! They will carry you away. We have a creek on the property, and so we'll see wildlife coming thru to get water.
