Journaling: January 9, 2018 Dear Marilyn, In a year from now, you will be retired, if all goes according to plan. You have worked hard for so many years, and now it is time to play. Dye that hair of yours pink! Try to be more well-rounded in your activities. Do some of that gardening you love to do but find it exhausting in the evenings and weekends. Bake those grain-free goodies that you and John both enjoy. Keep healthy, get exercise. Maybe you can start walking again, up and down Rockton Avenue and into that small sub-division just up the road where there is no traffic? Hoping that you share some of this with a little dog. Pets aren’t in my present right now, but you really need to adopt a rescue puppy. You will enjoy the antics and energy and unending love that a dog can provide. Pick up a book, make it your mission to read more. That used to be your passion, and now, it is just an afterthought. Keep that man of yours healthy, so that you can enjoy adventures together. Speaking of adventures, make some. Travel, see the Black Hills, go to Iceland, go back to Poland, take that once in a lifetime trip out to Australia. Travel to New Zealand - where there are more sheep than people. Keep in touch with your friends. Rather than just an e-mail, get out more, DRIVE, have lunch or dinner with them, spend the weekend visiting with your out-of-town friends. Laugh. Make some art. I know you’ll still love Photoshop, but do more tangible art. Pick up your glue book again, cut and paste like you did in kindergarten. Make messes with paints. I want you to be happy, I want you to be fulfilled, I want you to have fun, I want you to never regret retiring. I love you.

I adore the journaling! I like how you are reminding future you all the things you wish you had time for now!

Your page is beautiful, both is style and in journaling, what a perfect sentence at the end " I love you " my eyes misted over......

This is lovely! I want to see your pink hair. I've had pink and blue and purple. Why not? Your retirement is going to be wonderful, I think!
