Yep, @trekmom , you got it right. Last year was the first time the magnolias bloomed. Guess they won't this year.

I do this too! I watch trees and see when the bloom/prosper compared from one year to another. I did this especially when I was getting married, so I could see if the cherry blossoms would be bloomed. Little did I know that a year can be totally different from one to the next! I lucked out though. Wonderful page, and I love the comparison.
