My precious Doodle, well, the day is finally here! The day that you begin your wonderful journey into kindergarten. I know you just graduated from the pre-k you loved so much. The choice to hold you back in pre-k one more year was a good one, I believe as it made you grow up so much more. You are ready now for the next big adventure. In the last year you have matured into such a beautiful young lady, and you can actually sit still longer than two seconds! What a difference that year made. Almost every day since you have graduated from pre-k, you have told us how much you miss it. Asked us, “Will I still get to visit?” and told us we are only allowed to talk about going to kindergarten on Fridays. Now, it’s here, you will be entering into a wonderful time of fun and learning.
I wish for you all the wonder, joy, and fun that kindergarten can bring. You always have something funny to say and there’s no doubt your spirit shines. I hope that you slow down enough to let others shine too. That you can lift them up and make them feel as special as you make me. I hope that you learn new things and have fun learning along the way. You love dance and art and all things girly. You are sassy and smart and my ray of sunshine! I want you to share your wonderful humor, creativity, and curiosity with your friends, new and old. I want you to feel safe and secure with your new teacher. Mostly I want you to continue to enjoy learning, sharing, and exploring the world around you.
You are such a big girl now, but I still remember you as my little Doodle Bug. Time has gone so quickly and I will send you in to school today. I will come back knowing you are not fully mine anymore. We will never be the same.
