The text reads: As of this day, 06 September 2020, over one hundred and eighty-eight thousand [188,000] citizens of the United States have lost their lives to Covid19. How is it possible to grieve the loss of 188,000 people? We have lost fewer in wars, in previous pandemics, in terrorist attacks. It is a number impossible to comprehend in any real way, in any three-dimensional, real-life way. Sooner or later, we will all count someone we knew and loved in the total of losses. Until that day, some will continue to deny, and in denial, will contribute to the accumulation of deaths. The accumulation of loss, the accumulation of grief. Until we can no longer stand, unbent.
