I TOLD YOU SO
There CAN be a lot of benefits when you work for the government, but there can also be negatives, and I ran smack into that conundrum many years ago when the “powers that be” decided people whose job is to WRITE reports should be doing them on a spread sheet, NOT on a word processor. AND, they should be relocated OUT and away from the building that houses EVERY source of information they need to do those reports, instead of even in the same part of town, a total waste of time and money. Basically, they wanted us to return to circumstances exactly like what DIDN’T work 30 years ago. As these changes approached, I’d been crying driving home every night, knowing how badly things were going to end. Then I heard a popular country song and realized I was actually in that same situation.
I COULD “take this job and shove it.”
And, I did.
And it was the best decision for me at exactly the right time.
And it turned out to be just as bad a situation I’d been predicting that was abandoned within months.
And THEY didn’t even know MY NAME.
