Journaling: 1998 - I knew what was to become of me:
I knew I'd never marry, having just come out of dreadful end to the first relationship. I knew I'd continue to work & live with my Grandparents forever and ever. I had a very interesting job where I met interesting people. I traveled quite a lot, and met more interesting people. What I didn't know was that the man who'd change my life has just taken a blow of his own, he opened his heart to the girl only to have it broken, as she rejected him & moved to Paris. Meanwhile the colleague who was going to go and visit Russia in the framework of a European
project could not travel, & he'd be sent to Moscow instead. Brought together by accident, or maybe by Fate itself we met and worked together falling for each other. Neither of us was ready to dive into a new relationship, so within a week we parted our ways, him returning to Oxfordshire, me staying in Russia. But we kept in touch. We wrote to each other from October till December, getting to know each other better, & getting closer by the day. Then I had to travel to the UK, and our paths crossed again this time intentionally, and here we are.
2013 - we are coming closer to our 14th Anniversary, we moved 4 times, now settled in Switzerland, our girls are going to school & speaking Italian at school, English with us, and Russian with my family. They also study French & now German. So my linguistic abilities come in useful, except that I don't work the way I used to any more. I didn't know what life had in store for me, & I couldn't have dreamt of this turn of events, but I am very happy it turned out this way, not the way I saw it.
