November 2023 - Journaling Challenge - Something Happy
Journaling - Benjamin is autistic and new things are hard. We've had issues with food and TV and just random everyday life stuff. But the other day, Benjamin agreed to watch “The Lego Batman” movie that his Auntie Amy sent for his birthday last month. He sat on the floor unmoving until a really silly part happened with Batman saying, “no” repeatedly and Benjamin had to get up and run around saying “no, no, no.” Then he rewound it to watch it again. He didn't even get upset when he couldn't find the exact part of the movie. He came over and just asked for help while bouncing up and down in his excitement. A random moment that was perfect. No issues. He didn't finish the movie because it got loud and he turned it off but 45 minutes! No timers. No arguments about new things. Afterward, we worked on his Lego Jeep for a bit. We might start the movie again from the beginning this weekend with Daddy because he hasn't seen it yet. A small good moment that makes me happy and proud of how far he's come. 11.01.2023

an awesome achievement, you must be so happy. Great story telling.
p.s. my autistic son still lives and breaths Lego and he'll be 18 soon. His current passion is creating models of the Lego movies and Lego series. He's building up an Instagram following at the moment, most are adults.
holy dynamic and touchable title, batman! (all the lego movies are awesome but that's from a parent perspective i guess that hasn't been in your shoes.) i will say seeing the Lego Masters series (i know there's a US version but we've only seen the Aussie ones) always prompted some extra lego fun and creativity here - and @Angela Toucan all those on it (one of only a few reality shows i'll watch) are such talented and creative adults, i think lego is just another artform and creative outlet so that is awesome about your son!)
Oh, I love this so much. The title is great and I love the vertical composition. But more than that your journaling certainly is something good! Yay for Benjamin and his progress.
